Paco’s birthday 2010

Three neighborhood boys Josef, Rafael and Dayan. Hanging around as we prepared for Paco's party. Josef is an accomplished top (trompo) spinner. These were popular when I was a kid... yeah... in the middle of the last century. Kids still play outside in Mexico. Abril is dressed for uncle Paco's party.
Once every couple of months I get a haircut. Paco's party was reason enough, and my pretty Peluquera was another. I rented a "Rockola" for the party. It's a jukebox with a video screen and contains a zillion Mexican tunes and music videos but the boys are watching a Michael Jackson video and imitating his moves. I think Rafael is doing the MJ crotch grab in this shot. Raul is a beloved neighbor, invited to all family festivities. He is mildly retarded and collects slop from the surrounding neighbors to support he and his mother. Here he is singing karaoke to a popular song.
How late could you sit in front of your house playing loud music and drinking beer? In Mexico there is not limit, and the neighbors don't complain because next week it might be their turn. This party lasted until two AM. I didn't. I went to the couch about midnight. Yep... gettin' old. That's Paco in the middle and to his left is "Super Raton", translated - Mighty Mouse. That was his professional name when he wrestled in Mexico City years ago. But the name stuck.
